چکیده
lopidogrel is a prodrug activated in the liver to a metablite that is a specific and irreversible inhibitor of the platelet 2Y12 receptor. The P2Y12 receptor mediates the amplifiation of aggregation induced by adenosine diphosphate ADP) and also other agonists. In addition, P2Y12 inhibiion also affects coagulation and inflammation (1). These echanisms serve as the rationale for P2Y12 blockade in igh-risk cardiovascular disease. Indeed, following signifiant clinical benefits reported in major clinical trials, clopiogrel, along with aspirin therapy, is now widely used round the world to prevent thrombotic events in patients ith acute coronary syndromes and after coronary artery tenting (2).

COMPARISON OF ANTIULCER EFFECTS OF TRICYCLIC ANTIDEPRESSANTS WITH CIMETIDINE AND OMEPRAZOLE IN RATS
The antiulcer effects of different tricyclic antidepressants (trimipramine, doxepin, imipramine, and amitriptyline) in comparison with those of cimetidine, pirenzepine and omeprazole were investigated in male rats with acute gastric ulcer. Acute gastric ulcer was induced by oral administration of O. 6N HCl solution, 1 mL/rat. Pretreatment of animals with doxepin, trimipramine, amitriptylin...
متن کاملPopulation pharmacokinetics of omeprazole in a random Iranian population
Background: Omeprazole is metabolized predominantly by CYP2C19, a polymorphically expressed enzymes that show marked interindividual and interethnic variation. These variations cause a substantial differences that have been reported in the pharmacokinetics of omeprazole. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the pharmacokinetic parameters of omeprazole in a random Iranian population. Met...

متن کاملThe Effect of Two Different Doses of Omeprazole on Gastric pH in I.C.U. Patients
About 1.5-6 % of the patients with gastric and duodenal erosions admitted to I.C.U. are prone to gastrointestinal (G.I.) bleeding with its ensuing complications. Routine prophylaxis with H2-blockers and anti-acid has been used in these high risk patients for decades. In this study we evaluated the effect of P.O omeprazole, a potent acid inhibitor with prolong effects on gastric pH. Patients wit...
متن کاملSECONDARY PREVENTION OF UPPER GASTROINTESTINAL BLEEDING IN LOW DOSE ASPIRIN USERS INFECTED WITHHELICOBACTER PYLORI
ABSTRACT Background: Aspirin even at low dose ( 100 mg) can increase the risk of upper gastrointestinal bleeding. It is usual to use low dose aspirin for cardiovascular prophylaxis. We hypothesized that Helicobacter pylori eradication is as effective as omeprazole maintenance therapy for secondary prevention of bleeding in those who take low dose aspirin and are positive for Helicobacter pylor...
